Trauma-informed and Relational Online Therapy in British Columbia
Carly Chizda (she/her)
Hi, I’m Carly.
I’m a registered clinical counsellor and registered nurse in North Vancouver. I offer feminist and trauma-informed online therapy for adults and mature minors of all gender identities.
I work with folks navigating the impacts of relational and developmental trauma, like sexualized violence and adverse childhood events. That said, you don’t need to have had this experience to reach out. A sense of needing some support right now is more than enough reason.
-
Support for survivors of sexual violence and other forms of gender based violence in Vancouver.
→ Some examples of violence that I work with are: sexual assault, sexual harassment, child sexual abuse, incest, and sibling sexual abuse.
→ I recognize this type of violence comes in many forms, and your experience may not be included in this brief list. It would be my honour to witness your story.→ You can learn more about this type of work here.

(Trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, developmental trauma, relational trauma, systemic trauma, betrayal trauma).
When trauma goes unprocessed, parts of you might still hold the fear, sadness, or aloneness from those moments.
→ We’ll work to create a safe relationship where those emotions can finally be met and moved through.

Caring for others often takes an emotional toll that goes unseen. If you’re carrying vicarious trauma or need a space where someone truly understands the realities of healthcare work, I’m here to support you.

The stigma around death, dying, and wanting to die can be so limiting to healing. Your true feelings deserve to be expressed and processed.
→ If you’re grappling with suicidal ideation, you are certainly not alone.
-
Confronting the heavier questions and realities of the human experience can be isolating and scary, but you don't have to navigate them alone. Therapy provides a space to explore these feelings, uncover your meaning, and show up exactly as you are.
-
Anxiety and depression sometimes signal emotional experiences that haven’t had a safe place to be felt or understood.
→ In our work together, we slow down, create safety, and gently explore the feelings underneath the worry or heaviness.
→ With support, you can reconnect with yourself and begin to feel more grounded and alive.
-
Experiencing low self-esteem or self-worth can sometimes come from moments when you didn’t receive the care or safety you needed.
→ Together, we explore the emotions and experiences that shaped how you see yourself.
→ With support, it’s possible to uncover a deeper sense of confidence and self-compassion.
-
A space to process living with both visible and invisible loss.
→ This can include many different forms, like death, estrangement, breakups, fading connections, and personal identity changes.
→ To really integrate and process grief, we’ll work through all the emotions that arise. The sadness, but also the anger, guilt, regret, curiosity, and hope.
-
Our experiences leave marks on our relationships, and we can often see ourselves reflected in them. Maybe you're having a hard time being vulnerable with a partner or are feeling easily triggered by a family member. We can let these moments guide us to the parts of ourselves that need tending to, and explore them together.
→ I can help you sort through relational challenges one-on-one (individual therapy)
→ Some relationship conflicts I have helped people work on are: managing conflicts, power imbalances, communicating needs and boundaries, and processing betrayed trust.
